New York City Anti-Violence Project (AVP) provides free and confidential assistance to thousands of LGBTQ and HIV-affected people across New York city each year through their 24-hour bilingual hotline, counseling, support groups, legal representation, and individual advocacy. AVP helps survivors of violence and allies become advocates for safety through participation in community education and outreach, development of organizing campaigns, and the creation and support of city, state ad national coalitions to address LGBTQ and HIV-affected violence.

The Center for Anti-Violence Education (CAE) develops and implements comprehensive violence prevention programs for individuals and organizations. Through a combination of education, physical empowerment, and leadership development, CAE provides underserved communities throughout the New York metropolitan area with skills to break cycles of violence.
Day One partners with New York City youth to end dating abuse and domestic violence through community education, supportive services, legal advocacy, and leadership development. Serving all five boroughs, Day One sues an empowerment model that invests and involves young people in maintaining safe relationships for themselves and their peers.

Harlem Hospital Center for Victim Support
Provides 24-hour, 7 day a week rape crisis counselors, medical/forensic examination including HIV prophylaxis, date rape drug testing, and pregnancy prevention. Trained sexual assault examiners and counselors are on site.

Loveisrespect (formerly the National Teen Dating Abuse Hotline) has highly-trained advocates who offer support, information, and advocacy to young people who have questions or concerns about their dating relationships. They also provide information and support to concerned friends ad family members, teachers, counselors, service providers, and members of law enforcement. Free and confidential phone, live chat and texting services are available 24/7/365.
Mount Sinai's Sexual Assault and Violence Intervention (SAVI) program offers confidential, free of charge services including: counseling for survivors of rape, sexual assault, child abuse, domestic violence, and intimate partner violence and support services for friends and families of survivors; counseling and support services for Orthodox Jewish survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence; emergency room advocacy; legal advocacy; and education and training.

Victims of domestic violence may receive temporary housing, emergency shelter and supportive services for themselves and their children. All programs provide a safe environment as well as counseling, advocacy and referral services.

The NYC Family Justice centers (FJCs) provide comprehensive civil legal, counseling, and supportive services for survivors of domestic violence, elder abuse, and sex trafficking. Located in all five boroughs, the FJCs are safe, caring environments that provide one stop services and support. Services are free and confidential. All are welcome regardless of language, income, or immigration status.
