Amileah is a master's student in the Mental Health Counseling program at Hunter College. They joined the Relationship Health Research Team (RHRT) as a Clinical and Administrative Research Assistant in September 2024.
As a first-generation college graduate, Amileah earned their B.A. in Journalism with a minor in Graphic design from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After graduation, they spent six years working as a writer, editor, and content producer in both private and nonprofit sectors, honing their skills in communication and storytelling.
Amileah's passion for mental health was ignited during their time as a crisis counselor for LGBTQ+ youth at the Trevor Project. This experience deepened their commitment to supporting mental health in the queer community and inspired them to pursue a career in counseling. At RHRT, Amileah combines their diverse background in communication with their dedication to research and advocacy, aiming to contribute to a better understanding of relationship health and wellbeing.
In their free time, they enjoy ceramics, running, and singing with the New York City Community Chorus.
